Shell Dressing-scarce War Office issue £9.50 each

WW2 Shell Dressing. Carried by many soldiers on active service, identical to WW1 pattern. During WW2 is often seen stowed on the tin helmet under the cam net.

This dressing was designed to be used immediately after injury, the outer contained a large bandage and cotton wool pad which were more suitable for the larger injuries caused by modern munitions than the First Field Dressing.
