Famously known after WW2 as the cartoonist for the Daily Mail, 'Jon' invented the 'two types' while serving in the Middle East with the CMF; typical desert officers with their own brand of dry humour. They have long been a favourite of mine and many others and as Bruce Bairnsfather's 'old bill' reveals the thoughts and life of the soldier in WW1 through the use of humour, the 'Two Types' do the same for the Western Desert.
These cartoon books are now quite difficult to get, but make great reading for any 1940's buff. Overall good condition but the cover and pages are a bit 'dry' and therefore need to be handled carefully, the pages are 'browned' but these were printed on cheap paper by the British Army Newspaper Unit CMF and were not expected to last 70 years!
