The Utility pouches were designed to be worn in addition to the universal ('bren') pouches, they were larger than the universal and could accommodate 2" mortar bombs, grenades, bren magazines, or ammunition etc. It was worn with one pouch to the front and the other to the rear and was designed to be quickly removed so that it could be passed to those in the section who needed it during a fire fight.
These pouches are usually early to late dated (latest 1944) with early or pre war yoke straps. Please note that we cannot supply matched date pairs. Each set comes with a front and a rear pouch (one has the chest strap) and the neck strap (yoke), all are WW2 dated and in unissued or light use condition. Photo Shows typical stock example.
